About

I’m J.M. DeBord.
You probably know me as RadOwl.

More than 25,000 dream interpretations, one dreamer at a time, on Reddit’s r/dreams since 2014.

If you found your way here from Reddit, you already know the name. I’ve spent more than a decade in r/dreams — over 25,000 dream interpretations, one dreamer at a time, since I became a senior moderator there in 2014. That community is where DREAMS 1-2-3 was built, tested, and rebuilt, dream by dream, until it held up.

Most dream interpretation goes wrong at the first move: grab a dictionary, look up the symbol, done. That’s guessing with extra steps. A dream is built from your life — your setting, your fear, your unfinished business — which means the meaning has to come from you too.

That’s the whole idea behind the method, and it’s the part people find hardest to believe at first: somewhere down within yourself, you already know what your dream means, because you’re the one who made it. DREAMS 1-2-3 isn’t a system for learning something new from an outside authority. It’s a system for remembering what you already encoded while you slept — the same way a word sits on the tip of your tongue until the right nudge brings it back.

Four books came out of that work. DREAMS 1-2-3 is where to start — it’s the method, cover to cover. Nightmares goes deeper into dark and recurring dreams. The Science of the Paranormal picks up where dream interpretation runs into precognition and the things science hasn’t finished mapping. RadOwl’s Crash Course is the fast version. Before any of them there was The Dream Interpretation Dictionary — still my bestseller, still in print, and not the method I teach today.

But the place I actually do this work, every day, for free, is still r/dreams. If you want to watch the method run on real dreams from real people rather than take my word for it, that’s where to look.
